XPlor Magazine for Kids

I love to find fun ways to help my kids learn about things that I would normally never think to teach them (Did you know that some wasps don’t have wings and that many don’t even sting? Or that baby birds break out of their shells with something called an egg tooth? Or that a Whirligig Beetle has four eyes?)

There’s a cute little FREE magazine called Xplor, published bi-monthly by the Missouri Conservation Department that gives your kids tips, facts and pictures to learn more about their environment. The latest edition has fun things to do, facts about stream-dwelling animals, several pages all about wasps, tips for taking nature pictures, “Strange but True” facts about animals, how to paddle a canoe, and ideas for doing your own “Snapshot Safari.” It doesn’t take long to read through, but it encourages new activities and can be a great start to learning more about outside world right here in Missouri. It’s free and cute and another way to keep your kids learning (and something in the mailbox with their name on it)!
