A Library Card of Their Own

Want to make a trip to the library even more special for your tiny humans? Ask the friendly Springfield-Greene County librarian how you can get your kids their very own library card (even the littlest ones!). It gives them ownership of their experience, helps them to feel like they are a part of what the library has to offer, and makes checking out new books all the more fun. My four-year-old and three-year-old each got one, and the librarian was so sweet to present it to them along with a little pin that said “I got my library card at the Springfield-Greene County Library District.” They’re pretty proud that they now have their very own card and can give it to the librarian all by themselves. Who needs Mom anymore? Well, except for the ride to the library. Oh, and to carry all of the books back to the car…

What You Need to Know:

Ask any Springfield-Greene County Librarian for assistance with getting your child a card and linking it to yours. You’ll have to fill out a short form, but you won’t need to bring any documentation.
